LONDON, April 9.

The Commissioner of Customs has prosecuted the Ellis Kislingbury Company for importing per Omrah 33cwt of Victorian butter containing 18.2 per cent of water.

Defendants pleaded that the Government certificate did not mention an excess of water. They regarded the certificates as practically a Government guarantee. The Magistrate, in imposing a fine ot 40s, said: "The people who inspected the butjter before shipment ought to be before me I"
