UNCOLLECTED INCOME TAX.

LOSS OF £20,000,000.

LONDON, April 8.

In the House of Lords, Lord Avebury declared the action of the Government in not passing the resolution authorising the income tax had resulted in a loss of £20,000,000, whereon the interest was £800,000. An alarming fall in national securities was the consequence. Lord Crewe replied that the Government was responsible for the management of the taxpayers' money, and also guardians of the constitution.
