Mr Deakin, replying to a County Press Conference deputation, said' that £1000 had been placed on the Estimates to invite the editors of British newspapers to visit Australia. ■ The London Chamber of Commorce hadi been asked to select the guests. The question of reduced cable rates was receiving attention, but on the question of an -AllRed cable route it was difficult to get all the partners into line.

Mr Boyd, an honorary Minister in the Bent Cabinet, who was on his way from England, at the time of thife reconstruction, has resigned. (
