IMPRESSIVE ENDING TO THE PANANGLICAN CONFERENCE.
The great thanksgiving service at St. Paul' 8 on Wednesday, June 24, was the last magnificent act of the unprecedented and most successful Pan-Angli-can Congress (says the London Daily Mail). The Archbishops and Bishops laid upon the altar (in parchment) the thankoffering of every Anglican diocese , throughout the world, and the total came to one-third of a million sterling —£33,208 0s Hid. For hours before the service a great crowd outside was gathering ; and within a few minutes after the opening of the doors at eleven every seat in the building was occupied. Not merely upon the -wicle arena of the floor, but in every shadowy corner and in many an unexpected v balcony between aroh and spandrel, and even in the topmost gilded galleries which girdle i^he dome, there suddenly and swiftly appeared an unnumbered host' of worshippers. Outside, too, upon the great steps long rows of seats were crowded with those who were enabled, through the open doors, to join in the service.
