TELEGRAMS.

THE HAWEA.

[BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH.-COPYRIGHT.]

NO WORD YET OF HER.

[PBESS ASSOCIATION.] AUCKLAND, August 11. There is no word of the Hawea yet. It is thought possible that she may have broken down, as under ordinary circumstances she would have arrived at Gisborne within seven days of her leaving the New South Wales port. The Flora has left in search, the Haupiri will leave immediately, and the Sydney-Wellington boats will keep a special look-out. Captain P. C. Read 's in command of the Hawea, and he has with him the following officers: — Chief, Mr B. B. Invin; second, Mr R. A. Williams; third, Mr W. Cossentine; chief engineer, Mr J. McLean; second, Mr A. Carman; third, Mr F. Ritson.
