Messrs J. H. Nixon and (2b. report as follows : — ■ At . our. usual fortnightly 'Wanganui sale on Wednesday, 20th inst., we were favored with a heavy yarding, some 5000 sheep and 450 head of cattle coming forward. There was a good attendance of buyers. Bidding for sheep, however, was somewhat 'dragging throughout, and with the exception- o* lambs, which met with a ready sale at improved rates, prices remain much the same as last quotations.' , Young \ cattle met with a good < demand, and sold readily under the hammer. Cattle : Mixed weaner? 16s 6d to 19s, others 13s to 15s 6d, mixed yearlings (bus-fed) £1 13b 6d, 3-year steers £3 9s, empty cows', £2 to £2 2s, dairy cows £4 5a to £4 7 6d, others £3 6s to £4, bulls £2 to £2 lie.
