DROUGHT IN AUSTRALIA. 1 fMBBSS ASSOCI.VTTOW.I (Received April 14, 10.15 a.m.) MELBOURNE, April 14. The drought in the north-eastern districts is very severe. Many owners are compelled to hand-feed large quantities of stock and send some to other districts. The stock returns show the number of horses in the State to be 424,648; cattle, 1,842,805; sheep, 14,116,734. In each case the figures are a record. Sheep have increased by 1,209i000.
