THE AMERICAN FLEET'S VISIT.

[PEESS ASSOCIATION.! AUCKLAND, April 14. Interviewed, the Hon. Mr McGowan stated that Cabinet at its first meeting would consider the entertainment of the American fleet. Personally, he iavored an adjournment of Parliament to enable the legislators to participate in the welcome, but it would depend how the matter was viewed by members. No scheme had yet been formulated to entertain the visitors. He was not altogether enamored of the suggestion to hold a hui in Auckland. There were many difficulties in the road, while Americans saw plenty of -natives in their own country. He favored a round of bright social functions.
