THE TARANAKI ASSOCIATION.

The annual meeting of the- Taranaki Hockey Association* was held at New -Plymouth last night. The President, Mr F. P.' Corkill,. presided. There were present delegates- from Hawera, Stratford, Inglewood, Kia Ora (Ittgle- { wpod),' ; New Plymouthcvand Carringtoa road, and Mr W. P. The Secretary- was instructed' to write to the New Zealand Association recommending that any rule transmitted by ,the .^English Association after, the annual, meetings of the New .Zealand Association should not ,be enforced until .tile following^ season. t t . 7 ' It was decided to 'adopt .the committee's recommendation to Auckland Association for the' shield. l/4t ' was- decided, on- 'the motion of Messrs- Avery and Tribe, to '»sk the New.. Rundle (Christchurch); committee, Messrs Beere, Ward, Dewhirst,. Avery, Niven and Tribe. It was decided that the nominations for the shield competitions-- close on April &3rd,, and a start be made in the first week of May.
