NEW ZEALAND EXECUTIVE MEETING.

WELLINGTON, ril 1O '_ It was decided to instruct union, who are to combine against the British team to arrange for the selection of a team and other matters. The selection will be left to the unions, but in the event of any trouble the New Zealand body will step in.

It was decided to get a report from the Wanganui "Union in regard to a request from the Waverley Club to Transfer to the Taranaki Union.

A sub-committee was appointed to report on what would be involved in substituting two test matches in place of the games between the Britishers and North and South Island teams. It was decided to play the North v. South Island match in Wellington on 20th June, a week prior to the date fixed for the test match against Britain. The New Zealand team will be selected after the inter-island match.

MANAWATU RECOMMENDATIONS.

PALMERSrON N., April 10.

The Manawatu Rugby Union met this evening, when the following recommendations were made for the consideration of the New Zealand Rugby Union at its annual meeting to be held next month: — (1) That at least 50 per cent, of the profits of every match played under the auspices of the New Zealand Union be handed over to the local union on whose ground the match is played; (2) that it is desirable that measures should be taken to empower line umpires to assist the referee in detecting instances of rough play.

BAYLY PARK.

The Hawera Football Club, which has been negotiating with Mr G. T. Bayly for a lease of Bayly Park, last night met Mr Bayly and came to an arrangement with him. Mr Bayly has generously consented to give the club a lease oiP Bayly Park for 21 years, the club to pay rates, keep ground, fences and buildings in order, and to allow the cricket club free use of the. ground during, the cricket season. There is also to be a clause in the lease giving the Rugby Union or the Cricket Association the right to play rep. matches on the ground at a reasonable charge, and the football club is to have the right to buy the ground at the end of the term. The football club fully appreciate Mr Bayly's generosity, which is only another, example of his keen interest in the sport. ,

Friendly matches were played on Thursday between Eltham and Stratford seniors and first Junior teams. Eltham won both games. The senior match was played at Stratford, and resulted: Eltham 5, Stratford nil. L. Mflir scored a try for Eltham, which Dive converted. The junior matoh was played at Eltham, the home team winning by 10 points to nil. W. Glentworth and T. Vincent each scored tries and T. Glentworth potted a goal from the field.
