OKAIAWA ATHLETIC SOCIETY.
INAUGURAL GATHERING.
The' initial sports nwxitiajg of the Okaila^ra Athletic bock^y was held on Wednesday _at Mr F. , A. Bremer's Gordon Park. The weather , was beautifully -fine., &nd\in consequence there was a large at- ' tendance of' the public, the sum of £25 .74 being token- at th© gates. Children 'were adnnitted free of charge, antl taking the gathering as a wbofe it was estimated that there was ,an attendance of over 800. The ground . lent by Mr F. A. Bromor is an excellent one, not merely •'from a competitor's pxjiflfc 01. view, but from a' spectator's standpoint. It is 'completely surrounded 'by a.. fine high hedge pf goßse/ whicij>is- a splendid breakwind.
