PROBABLE IMPORTATION OF AUSTRALIAN FLOUR.

CHRISTCHURCH, April 7.

It is stated in grain circles here that there is a probability that Australian flour will be imported in view of the fact that local flour is up to £11 10s.

SUNDAY CAMPS AND CANTEENS.

Coloinel WoJfe, 0.C., says there will be no canteen in tho Easter encampment which commences next week. The men have not asked for it. Referring to theecclesiastical strictures passed ■ on, the practice followed while in camp, of Sunday drill, Colonel Wolfe said the officers in charge could be relied upon to see that there was no desecration of the Sabhath. "Wo invariably have church parade," said tie Colonel, "and erory man in camp is compelled to attend. I thini. I might reasonably point out that many are thus compelled to attend divine service who never saw inside a church when off duty. Again, it is far better to have men perfecting themselves in drill and discipline than to Have them piqnicing, boa/ting, or following some other diversion."

WELLINGTON, April 7. In the Appeal Court, at the hearing of the Otekoike case, Mr Hosking contended that a (renewable lease was actually granted to plaintiffs, and) that as it was approved) of by the Minister, that approval could not be withdrawn. Plaintiffs had satisfied a'l Che requirements of section 80 of "The Land Laws Amendment Act, 1907," as to years of employment and, loss of employment. Therefore ■the question' was finally decided, and could not be- re-opened.
