An accident occurred on Sunday afternoon when v 3|rs $r.eece, of Kaponga, was, injured., It appears that Mr and Mrs" Pifeece were driving to Rowan to visit some friends, and when nearing the first bridge, on the Opunake road, from Manaia. road, ( their horse shied at a^inqjor car.andbeg^n to j>lay up. Mrs Preece, .thinking that a serious accident, might.- occur, jumped and in thY fall ; sustained a sprained ankle. Mr Preeeekepf. his seat and hikngtp the -reins, , and .luckily escaped .unhurt.
