POTATOES AND ONIONS.
Potatoes : The Victoria from the South, omy brought 63 sacks, which come to a market that is well stocked, but they axe moving off fairly well at about £5 10s to ilo for parcels that have been picked over, with a firmer tendency. Some of the local merchants have sold the balance of theiT purchases in the South, where the market is improving, so that it is not expected that many more oonsignmente ot old potatoes will come from the South. Onions: There have been no fresh arxivals and. the market is very bare. Hie indifferent quality of Victorians is keeping merchants from operating, and price in .the local market is about £8 10s to £9 per ton for lote that have been resorted.—Auckland Weekly News.
