j . The annual genera] meeting of the i Okaiawa FootbaJll Club was held on Wedj nesday evening, when tfoeTe Avas a large . attendance. Mr A. O. Buchler was voted 'to the chair. The Secretory Tead the report atfid balance-sheet. The report stated that the past season had been a fairly 1 successful one. The senior team had won I the Southern Championship, and, but far I the unreasonable delay in playing off with , the winners in the Northern Division, ' would have made a much better showing in the final. The play-off did not take plaice until ten weeks after the cup matches I were finished, consequently the men were , quite out of form. The team played 11 I matches, won 7, lost 4, .points, for 104, j against 48. The balance-sheet showed a I credit balance of £14 17s, which was con- , sidered most satisfactory. At the above meeting "Mike," a wellknown native Rugby enthusiast, rose in his seat and 6aid — "Me no savee the talk ' this meeting, but this tihe talk me." With that he placed a half-crowo upon the table and ]eft the room. The rflecetnifc bush fires in the Rdverlea district presented a fine spectacle from this township.
