The Times' correspondent also reports that members of the Board of Supervisors in San Framcisoo, in order to save itibemselves, nave confessed that each received tram t>be tmiibed railroads £8000 sterling. Schmitz and Ruef jointly received" £80,000 for securing to companies the privilege of substituting an overhead trolley system for cable lines. The Supervisors confessed that other extensive bribes -were aooepted. The game of tihe "grafters,", the coxrespondemb adds, is now "up."
