Chief Inspectors Report. — The Chief Inspector (Mr G. D. Break) reported as follows •.—Teaching has been resumed at two (of the Technical Schools, Wanganid and Feilding, and presently technical and coatinuaifcion work will be begun at other centres. The special instructors have been busily engaged with their duties. 11 wiill interest tihe Board to learn that Mr Browne, the daily expert, has under his instruction 288 primary school pupils. Mr Browne starts this week factory classes at Hawera, Eltham, and Manaia. The only shadow that falls across the path ot progress is- the question of finance, but it should be in the- power of the book-keeping art to reassure us on that score. The first batch of the inspectors' reports for th© year will be laid beflore tho Reports Comma ttee. It is satisfactory to know that not a little of tihe progress made during the last six months is attributed by tho inspectors to the inspiration gbt by the teachers at ihe last winter school. Copies of the various annual reports are submitted for the consideration of the Board.

Inaha. — Fitom J. Russell, re purchase of school site. Mr Dixon to obtain valuation and application to be made to tho Department for permission to sell.

Terrace End. — From committeo, pitote ; faing against the canoeflilation .of tho pri . ilege of franking correspondenco, and .- »- plying for grant for cupboard. — Copy >>f resolution fy> be sent to Minister of Education. Mr Bennett to report re cupboard. ' Manaia. — Re installation of electric light in Tesidmce. — Granted. Resolved .that the Board' contribute £4 towards the cost.

Eltham. — Re postage on letters. — Resolved that the Committee be {Informed of <tihe Government's decision.

Desks. — Tenders for supply of woodwork and fittings of desks were considered, and that of Mr G. H. Anderson, of Wangantiib was accepted, his piace being 5s 10d per desk.

Carving Appliances. — Resolved to authorise Mr Andrews, woodwork instructor, who is abou to visit the Old Country, to spend up .to £25 in the purchase of tools and .appliances 'required for woodwork instruction, — Chroniicde.
