PENNY POSTAGE.
MR ASQUITH NOT AN ADVOCATE

LONDON. March 20.
Mr Asquith, Chancellor of the Exchequer, replying to a deputation representing various parties in the House of Commons who asked that penny postage be established between Great Britain and th& United States, was non-conamittal.
He Temarked that the post office revenue would not reach expectations, and further demands iroist probably be met, owing to the enquiry of the Select Committe regarding the postal service.
Moreover it was essential to know definitely whether the United States would x*ciprocate in any steps taken
