Tho funeral of the late Lena Rutlaad, who died in the Hawera Hospital on' Friday last after undergoing an operation^for appendicitis/ took place on Sunday, leaving the Octagon about 2 o'clock. A number of .her schoolmates attended bearing wreaths, and there was also a fair number •f vehicles and people on foot. The Rev. Wilson conducted the service.

The meeting of those interested in the formation of technical instruction classes was held in the supper room of the Town Hall on Monday evening, when there, wm about 60 preoant.
