I am informed that a .requisition is being prepared asking Mr John Guy to contest tne Egmont seat in the Government interest.

The Opunake bowlers got back from New Plymouth on Friday. They got taken down on the green, but had a royal time all the same.

Am glad to see Mr Jack Clatrke back again' from the hospital, where he has been laid up with an injured hip. Mt McDavitt has returned from the Exhibition city, where he has been spending the Xmas vacation.

Thorianite, used in the manufacture of incandescent gas mantles, costs £1700 a ton.
