Regarding Mariana, the Abyssinian outlaw who in April last raided a number of Soudanese villages, tlhe newspaper H Messagero, of Rome, states that Lieutenant Pollera, who was sent to Noggera, within the Italian isphere, to enquire into thfe raids, acquitted the native. The Brit&sh Government, however, was 1 dissatisfied with the result, and had the Chief of Noggera arrested, after insisting <m this course at Adisabeba, the Abyssinian capital, and obtaining Lieutenant Pollera/s departure.
