1 PREMIER'S REPLY TO FARMERS' UNION. [PEBBS ABSOOIATIOH.] WELLINGTON, September 6. Replying to a deputation from the Farmers' Union to-day, the Premier said he hoped the Land Bill would be circulated early next week. The Government washed to do what was fair to landowners. ' In connection with the limitation of area, the graduated land tax had not operated ac it was intended to do. In many cases there had been an addition to, instead of a reduction of, estates. He was in accord with the view of the Union, that those who were forced to sell portions of their land should have the best oportunity of doing so.
