HUNT CLUB BALL.
The annual ball of the Egmont-Wan-ganui Hunt Club is to take place in the Opera House to-night. The annual fixture is one if thr> most popular functions on the coast, and is always eagerly looked forward to by a very large nnmber, and visiiors are arriving from all along the coast and various other parts of the island. A number of energetic, workers have been busy during tlhe week preparing for the ball, and a glance at the hall just before going to press conveyed a good idea of the attractive scene which will be presented to those wh-j attend this evening. The decorating is in the capable hands of Misses Mitchell, Day, Sowerby and Outfield. The stage is being done in pink and white Japanese blossoms and rich drapings, and the hall with nikau palms and wattle Mr A. H. Arthur, is attending to the furnishing, v the usual supper-room being converted into diawing-rdoms. Mr J. Hook's sample rcorns are 1 to be used as supper-rooms. Mesdamea v Jary, Nolan, Baird, Westenra. Deem i and Cotitts, and Misses Nolan and Dingle are in charge of tihe supper department. In view of the enthusiasm being exhibited it is safe to say that to-night's ball will be quite up to the standard of any of the functions previously held by tih& clnb.
