Owing to a refusal by the crew of one of the Atlantic squadron to eat American tinned meat, the Admiialty permitted the crews to return such meats-, substituting Australian and Argentine tinned meat. Mr .Winston Churchill, replying to Mr John Redmond, gave emphatic assurances, on Mr Coghlan's authority, of the satisfactory official inspection of Australian tinned meats.
