TRENTHAM TRAINING NOTES.

WELLINGTON, July 9,

Recent heavy irains mado the course heavy at Trentham this morning. None of the Steeplechase candidates were given big tasks. Tondergbie and Chryseis finished together at the end of six furlongs in lmin 27sec, and Ailsa and Stronghold covered a similar distance in lmin 26sec, Ailsa finishing in front. Slow Tom was given solid exercise. Waiwera and Irish did two miles, the first at a solid pace and the second less strenuously. Lyrist saw the end of five fuiiongs in lmin 15sec. St. Clauner, White Star and Waifcato did a dhott sprint, St. Claimer, who had the advantage in weights, leading at the finish. Mataari ,in company, left five furlongs behind in Imin 14sec. Medallist did a short sprint, moving nicely. Landwern negotiated seven furlongs in lmin 40sec. At the half-mile post he was picked up by Annaro.ento, the pair finishing in 564 sec.
