BOROUGH OF HAWERA. NOTICE OF INTENTION TO STRIKE RATES. NOTICE is hereby given that the Hawera Borough Council will at a special meeting of the Council to be held at the Borough Council Offices, situated High Street, Hawera, on Wednesday, 25th day of July, 1906, at 7.30 p.m., make and levy the following rates for tbe period commencing on the Ist day of April, 1906, and ending on the 31st day of March, 1907, namely : — A General Rate under Section 95 of "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900," of 3d in the £ on the rateable value of all rateable property within the Borough of Hawera on the basis of the unimproved value, , due and payable in one instalmer t at the Boiough Council Office, High Street, Hawera, on the Ist day of August, 1906.. Water Rates (ordinary supply) under Section 102 of u The Municipal Coiporations Act, 1900," as follows :—: — On all lands and buildings in the Borough of Hawera to which water is supplied : — (a.) Where the annual rateable value does not exceed £12 1 os, a rate of 10s. (b.) Where the annual rateable value exceeds £12 10s a rate of 7% on the first £100 of such ■"value, 6% on the second of such value, 5% on the third £100 of such value, and 4% on so much of such value as exceeds £300. One-half of the respective water rates mentioned above on all lands and bui' dings to which water can be but is not supplied situate within 100 yards from any part of the waterworks, and on all buildings used as stores or warehouses or for any purposes other than dwelling-houses. The water rate shall be due and payable in half-yearly instalments on the Ist day of August, 1906, and the Ist day of February, 1907. Notice is also hereby given that the annually recurring Special Rate of 5d in the £ on the annual rateable value of all rateable property within the Borough of Hawera, made for providing the interest and other charges on the Drainage Loan of /7170, will be payable at the office aforesaid in one instalment on the date fixed in that behalf (being the Ist day of October, 1906), such rate for the period above mentioned to be f ths of a penny in the £ on the basis of the unimproved value.
