ASSOCIATION MATTERS.

A meeting of the Taranaki Association was heAd at New Plymouth on Thursday night. Present— Messrs Perham (Canrington Road) in the chair, J. E. Avexy (New Plymoith), Turner (Inglewood), and Cathro (bon. secretary). The Hawera Club were not represented. The New Zealand Hockey Association wrote 1 asking for the names of Taranaki players whom the Association could recommend for inclusion in the North Island team to play the South Island at Wanganui on Thursday, August 2nd. Beal (New Plymouth Club) and Pratt (Hawera) were mentioned as Taranaki's candidates, and if these players can made the trip, their names will be submitted,. _ The Auckland Association notified that if their tour is arranged they will play Tairanaki at New Plymouth on Saturday, 18th August.

The following Tananaki players were reported as being able to go on tour if required : — New Plymouth Clvb — CatHro, Fagon, Beal, J. E. Avery, Crawford; Canrington Road — P. McEwan, Mairett, K. McAllum, Arthur McEwan; Inglewood — Curtis, Morgan, Turner, Phillips, and Hallet t. A reply from Hawera had not been received.

It was decided to submit to the irespectdve Associations the following dates for representative matches : Wanganui, Thursday, August 9th; Wellington, Saturday,, August 11th; Manawatu, Wednesday, August 15tH. If the tour is arranged the team will leave by Wednesday's (Btib) midday train or Thursday's mail, returning on the following Thursday .

A moftaoa by Mr Avery tihat in the event of .the rep. tour falling through a third round of cup fixtures be arranged, was not carried 1 , as it was thought the suggestion should have been brought forward earlier, in the season. — Tairanaki Herald.
