This matcß took place at Manaia, and resulted in a win for the home team by 3 points to nil. Owing to the condition of the ground and the weather it was impossible for the backs to do much passing, and the game was for the most part played by the forwards. "Waimate had all the best of the game, especially in the second spell, forcing Hawera several times and being very close to scoring on more than one occasion.
