ELTHAM.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) Mr G. W. Tayler was yesterday returned unopposed as Mayor of Eltham, making his election the sixth consecutive term in which he has filled the office.

For the position of councillor to fill the vacancy caused by Mr C. A. Wilkinson's resignation, Mr Frank Amoore was elected by a substantial majority, the voting being: — Amoore 127, Cattanaoh 59, Coleman 46, informal 3. After the poll was announced the three candidates briefly thanked their supporters.

A meeting of those interested in Association football was held in the Fire Brigade Station, when it was decided to form a Soccer Club in Eltham. About 20 members were enrolled, Mr W. H. Hutoliinson being appointed secretary.
