PROHIBITION IN THE UNITED STATES.
Several papers have published a report of an interview which some representative of the liquor party had with an American journalist. This report shows that in some parts of the States wheTe prohibition laws exist they are not enforced. This information, extending over several columns, is about as valuable as an argument to prove that motor cars are a failure, because a man bought one and did not ride in it. When the No-license law is brought into operation in a New Zealand electorate, by a three-fifths majority, the same three-fifths majority will see that it is enforced. If they did not they would deserve to suffer from the burden and blight of the tyrannous liquor traffic as those places referred to are evidently doing.
