[PBBSS ASSOCIATION.] DUNEDIN, November 6. Isac Newton Duke, 'aged 61 years, at one time steward on one of the Union Company's steamers, . was received into the hospital, suffering from chlorodyne poisoning, 'and died there. Nothing it known at present as to how he came to take the poison.

CHRISTCHURCH, Nov. 5. A cab driver named Robert Weir met with an accident on the Ricearton racecourse on Saturday afternoon. His horae took fright at a train, and overturned the cab, Weir being thrown off and his right leg broken.
