SYDNEY, September 11

A man named Lorie, who is out on bail in connection with a charge of attempting to shoot his wife near Coonamble, as well as on a charge of cattle-stealing, shot at a man named Harris, of whom he was jealous, seriously- wounding him.

He then went to Quillbone Station and shot dead the owner, Patrick Veech, whose cattle Lorie was accused of stealing. Lorie is still at large.
