BURNSIDE STOCK SALES

DUNEDIN. March 15. At Burnside market 180 fat cattle were yarded, mostly medium to good bullocks, with a few pens of prime cows and heifers, the balance light weights. No reallly prime' bullocks were yarded. The sale showed a downward tendency, and closed flat. Best bullocks £7 10s to £8 10s, good iib 15s to £7 ss, medium- £5 10s to £6 10s; best heifers £5 10a to £7, medium up to £5. Fat. sheep.— ll69 were penned, mostly medium to good wethers and ewes. For wethers the demand was, if anything, better than at last week's sales. Ewea sold at about late rates. Best wethers 21s to 22s 6d, a few extra good 23s 6d to 25s 3d; nifdium wethers 19s 6d to 20s 6d, others 17s to 19s; best- ewes 20s to 21s 6d; a few extra heavy 22s 9s to 23s 6d ; good ewts 17s 6d to 19s, others 12s 6d to 16s 6d. Fat. lambs.— B29 penned. A few extra good lambs realised 18s 9d to 19s 6d, good lambs 16s to 17s, medium to good 14s 9d to 15s 9d, others 13s to 14s 6d. p,g B . — 88 yarded. Prices for small pigs w/re easier, while porkera and baconers realised last week's rates. Surkers 6s to 10s, slips 11s to 14s, stores 15s to 19s, porkers 21s to 275, light baconors 30s to 365, heavy 37s to 455, choppers up to 545.
