STRATFORD, March 17.

There was splendid weather and a big attendance to-day, the meeting proving very successful. Results :: — • Makuri Hurdles — Irish, 11.2, 1 ; Sammy, 9.0, 2; Kingwood, 9.0, 3. All started. Weary Bill, Warwick, and Apiti fell. Won by a length. Time, 2.55. . Divs., £2 14s and £2 10s.

Ngaire Hack. — Mataura, 7.5, 1; Fair Jess, 7.6, 2; Cyrene, 7.13, 3. Scratched: St. Bill, Southern Cross. Won by a length. Time, 1.16. Divs., £4 17s and £3 10s.

St. Patrick's Handicap.— Heroism, 6.13, 1; Makikihi, 6.10, 2; Lovelink. 6.12, 3. Scratched : Chola. Won by half a length after an exciting finish. Time, 1.42 2-5. Divs., £10 16s and £1 7s.

Toko Welter, seven furlongs. — Southern Cross 1, Leader 2, Lualla 3. Scratched — Le Vent. Time, 1.30 3-ssec Divs., £5 3s and 15s.

Cardiff Stakes, four furlongs ana a half. St. Cyress 1, Glenullin 2, Tarangi 3. Scratched — Confide, Paper, Hurrah, St.

Bill, L ementine, and Dody. Time, 56 4-ssec. Divs., £3 5s and £1 10s.

County Hack, one mile. — Silverlene 1, Makikiln 2, Fairwind 3. Scratched. — Lualla. A great fight between the first and second. Time 1.43. Divs., £2 14s and 16s. Ladies' Pursf, seven furlongs. — Hindoo I, Signora 2, Reticent 3. ' Scratched — Leader. Hindoo ran well right through, and his win was most popular, and horse and rider were taken to the stand and cheered. Time 1.54. Divs., £6 13s and £1. Final Handicap, six furlongs. — Rustique 1, Lovolink 2, Noteorini 3. All started. Best race of the meeting. Lovelink and Noteorini were the chief favorites. Coming up the straight, Rustique gradually drew up and got the verdict by a neck, the same distance separating second and third. Time. 1.15 4-5. Divs., £5 4s and 16s.
