CHRISTCHURCH, Feb. 27. Rain delayed a start in the Canterbury v. Australia match to-day until 4.30 p.m., when Canterbury again went to the wickets. The innings was quickly closed for 183, and Australia was left with 137 runs to get in an hour. Mainly owing to a splendid exhibition of free cricket by Trimmer they put on the runs with one numitß to hp'arc, Trumper being not out with a chanceless 87. The following arc the scores : —
