CHRISTCHURCH, November 30. Hugh Mcllraith, a well-known early settler in Canterbury, was found dead in bed this morning. Heart disease was the cause of death.

INVERCARGILL, November 30. James Stirling, son of a farmer at South Wyndham, was found drowned in the river this afternoon. The body was fully clothed, except for the coat. It is not known how it got into the water. OAMARU, December 1.

Charles Harley, a shepherd on Benmoro station, was killed by falling from his horse.
