PHOENIX v. KAPONGA. The fixture, Kaponga v. Phoenix, was played at Kaj>onga on Wednesday, and produced some excellent cricket. Phoenix won the match easily on the first innings by a margin of 68 runs. Kaponga wont first to the wickets. They opened well, Cole and Mathieson making » good stand. ■ The former scored 20 Dy good cricket, and Mathieson 9, but the rest, with the exception of Trower (8), and Betts (6), did very little, the innings closing for 50.
