Royal Standard, foaled October, 1901, was bred by William Patrick, Esq., Balmoral Farm, Out rani, and is a dark brown horso with white points and ratch on face. Prido was first as a yearling at the Taieri, and first as a three-year-old at the Tftieri and Dnnedin, and has taken other prizes too numorous to mention. Grand dam Prido of Kilsyth has been a most successful prize winner at both Dunedin and Taieri Shows and was champion at Invorcargill and Dunodin, besides having tnkon many first prizes as a brood mare. His dam, Duchess of Alexandra, was a most successful prize-winner, having gained the following prizes, viz. : First and champion at Tapanui (South Island) as a two-year-old, 1897; first prize at Egmont A. and P. Society Show, 1898; first and champion at Wanganui, 1898; first and champion at iaranaki, 1898 ; first prize as brood mare and champion prize as best draught mare or filly at Taranaki Metropolitan Show, New Plymouth, 1900. From the foregoing it will bo seen that What's Wanted's breeding cannot be surpassed, and he is certain to prove himself a getter of tho very best of Clydesdales.
