EGMONT A. & P. ASSOCIATION.

COMMITTEE MEETING.

A committee meeting of the Egtnont A. and P. Association was held on Saturday. Mr M. F. Baird, president, was in the chair, and there were also present : Messrs Washer, Robertson, J. Buchanan, B. Lysaght, T. Winks, F. Livingston, A. Larcom, Wills, Greaves, Duckworth, Spratt, Forsyth, Best, Baker, H. G. Gibson, Davidson, Grant, Sellars, Hunter, Symes, and Tonks. A letter was read from Mr H. G. Gibson, regretting that he cyuld not be present at last meeting, and forwarding seven nominees for membership. Mr Livingston proposed that Mr Gibson be re-elected a member of the committee. — Seconded by Mr Symes, and carried.

NEW MEMBERS.

The following new members were elected : — Messrs W. Gayer, M. J. Garry, J. Christoffell, W. H. Sprail, J. N. Murray, B. C. Gibson, H. Burke, M. Granville, E. Foreman, A. Hewitt, J. E. Cowell, A. Coleman, G. Riddle, jun., E. L. Bayly, S. Death, J. T. Briscoe, H. Death, J. Pettigrew.

COMMITTEE'S REPORT. The Ground Committee recommended that the 88 horse-stalls be divided into two and that half be made into loose boxes, and the remainder subdivded. This would allow of 88 stalls and 44 loose boxes, the latter with a size of 9ft x 10ft each. The Finance Committee recommended the adoption of the suggestions, which were agreed to, and the Ground Committee were empowered to give effect thereto. > GENERAL. . ' Messrs Baird, Tonks, Duckworth, and the secretary were appointed a committee to canvass the town for special prizes and members. Mr Tonks moved that Mr Joll (whose seat on the committee had been forfeited) be re-elected. He thought it would cause endless friction if the rule were enforced. Mr Davidson seconded. i Mr Greaves moved as an amendment That the nominations be gone on with. He thought that all the members were asked before they were nominated. H« thought the least members of the comniittee could do wa9 to either attend or give Dot-ice. Mr Gibson said that on each occasion when he was absent there were special circumstances. The President said he thought that some of the members were appointed in outside districts to further the interests of the association and not to attend the meet-

The amendment was treated as a negative, and the resolution, that Mr Joll be re-elected, was carried.

The President, and Messrs Sutton, Tonks and Greaves were appointed an executive commitee.

Mr Sellars referred to the rule preventing an owner from leading his own animals in the show ring, and gave notice to move that Rule 10 of the judging rules be altered. The meeting then rose.
