The Premier has written the Mayor of Hokitika warmly, thanking the people for the splendid manner in which nis silver political jubilee was celebrated. Nicholas McVeigh, cnarged with attempted criminal assault on a eh..d of four years, was sentenced to six years' imprisonment by Mr Justice Edwards.
