CONFESSES TO FIRING SIX PLACES.
[rmjesa association.] DUNEDIN, September 30. The young man Matthews, who was arrested on a charge of- incendiarism, confessed to-day to setting fire to Powley and Keaat's and five other places. Powley and Keast's on September % a house in Athol place on August 24, a, house in Cumberland street on »Uy 29, McCallum and Sons' mills on August 18, premises in Castle street on August 12. Accused, who seems to be o! weak intellect, has been remanded <ro hail.
