Royal Standard, foaled October, 1901, was bred by William Patrick, Esq., Balmoral Farm, Outram, and is a dark brown horse with white points and ratch on face. Grand dam Pride of Kilsyth has been a most successful prize winner at both Dunedin and Taieri Shows and was champion at Invercargill and Dunedin, besides having taken many first prizes as a brood mare.
