General yon Trotha, Commander-in-Chief of the German army in South-west Africa, has recommended to the Kaiser that a medal should be awarded to Inspector Woon and Sergeant Austin for orotecting, under heavy fire, a wounded lieutenant, particulars of which action were cabled on December 30.
