THE' CHINESE SUSPECTS.

Wellington, January 7. Yesterday afternoon three Chinese were removed to' Somes Island, pending investigation of symptoms of a suspicious nature developed by one of ,the trio. The patient 'originally, came from Canton about eight months agoj and went to Wanganui, subsequently arriving in Wellington. As a precautionary measure it t was . debmed advisable to isolate all contacts, bothjhere and at Wanganui. The patient is not sickening for, but is recovering from, the suspected contagious disease. PALMERSTON N., January % ■ At a meeting of the .Polo Association-to-day Te Papa Club was affiliated. ,The question of sending a team to Australia was left to the committee to deal with, as was a recommendation that if, neces sary a fund to defray expenses should be raised. It was decided t^hat the annual tournament be held at' .Auckland, commencing on Thursday, March 3rd.
