Tire report of the Royal Commission :m Costley Home and Ihe Premier's letter thereon were tonsideied by the Charitable Aid Board to-night. The report was condemned as exaggerated, and the fmdnig strongly disagreed vith. Tho Chairman said he was satisfied 90 per cent; of the inmates had not been better feds for 20 years. The staff was incompetent. Ad to the presence in the Home of persons fitted for no ether place bu. 1 ; an asylum, the report of the commission might do some good. Mr Bollard, M.H.R., moved that consideration of the report be de f erred, and that .the Gjurnment be asked for a copy of the evidence on which the report was based, Th^was carried.
