COMMITTEE REPORTS.

At the meeting of the Borough Council on Wednesday evening, The Works Committee (the Mayor, Crs IMngle, 'Wkittington, S&rgeson and Morrissey being present^ reported, recomUmMiding tbat tenders to close at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 5, 1904, be called for the sfupply and erection of two centifugal pumps and pump wells for use in connection with the drainage extension works according to the plans and specifications sent by Mr Reynolds. The report was adopted.

Tlhe Baths Committee (the Mayor, Crs Brunette, Morrissey and M'cNiven being present), reported tbat as in.stiiucfcecl by the Council they had considered the Question of hours upon which ladies could use the batihs and decided, That the baths be closed, to gentlemen between the hours of 11 a.m. and 12 o'clock noon and that on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays the baths be opened to ladies from 10.30 a.m. until 12 noon in addition to the afternoon hours as at present.

The report was adoptod.

The A*battoir Committee (the Mayor, Crs Dingle, Brunette and Wihittingtdn being- present) reported recommending, (I 1 ) That ttoe'tank and stand now in the recreation ground be removed to the Abattoir and fitted up, (2) that the barbed wire points in the cattile -rafee be bent back.

The report was adopted.

The Finance Committee (the Mayor, Crs McAneny and Whittaker being present) reported recommending, ( J) 'fhtd as Messrs Higginson and Trott had broken the condition of their leases, inasmuch as the rents were considerately in arrears 1 , that the amount be placed -in -the borough .solicitor's hands for collection aud the leases determined, (5) that £4 9s Gtt. bo. accepted in full payment ' of the amount of rent (|£6 9,s Gd) due by A. Robinson, (3) that 5s rent outstanding in the name of D. Garland be written off. The report was adopted.
