DUNEDIN, January 5. Mr H. D. Bedford, senior member fqr the city, addressed the electors to-night, when despite a steady rain about 2QO were present; Ho announced his intention of paving a visit to the nome Country, and said he would speak on his return on the fiscal question. His speech was. largely devoted to a criticism ' of the administration of the Government, which he declared was characterised by perfidy, treachery and corraption. hie asked, the people of Dunedinto give him a mandate to light against this corruption, which must be put down at whatever cost. A vote of .thanks and wishing Mr Bedford Godspeed was passed unanimously. A large number of representatives have arrived to attend the meeting of the Australasian Association for the Advancement of Science, wh^ich opens to-morroar. uordßanfurly arrived from the north tongbi, and was welcomed by Bishop Neville, Acting-Primate, as Chairman of the local reception oommittee. Professor David is President of the Association, and Mr G. M. Thomson local secretary.
