AUCKLAND, Janaary £ The eighteenth annual sale of thorough** bred yearlings at Wellington Park was. held to-day, when 27 lots realised 4450 guineas, or an average of close on 165 guineas. The top price, 900 guineas, was paid for a brown colt by Hotchkiss froitt floss of Wellington, purchased by Mr F Tiiley, of Fordell, Wanganui. Mr Q. Q* Stead, of Canterbury, paid 375 iuineas for a chestnut colt by Phoebus Apollofrom Amilla. Mr T. Fenton, West Australia, bought the brown colt by Phoebus* Apollo— Musket Maid for 310 guineas, and & »~& brown colt by Phoebus Apollo— Hilda for 540 guineas, Mr. E\ MacManamini javfe 425 guineas., for a bay, colt by PMce»bus' Apollo— Forme, No others- ;eachecl 500 guineas.
