SELS.
Received 4, 0.56 a.m. IvONDON, January 3. Renter's Tokio correspondent says that six armored cruisers and battleships, with Admiral Kamemura, are expected to leave Sasabo on Sunday for Masampho, where the Russian cruiser Rasboynik is stationed. It is surmised that Japan intends to prevent the Russian cruisers Gromomboi, Russia, R-tirik, and Bogatyr, <which are at Vladivostock, functioning with the Port Arthur squadron. Japan is transferring much of her shipping to neutrals, principally to Pritain. Received 4, 0.54 a.m. LONDON, January 3. I Reports received at Washington „ 1 from American representatives I abroad are that .official opinion in the European capitals still clings to the belief that war will be averted.
