BENEFIT CONCERT.

Tbe above concert will be held in tbe Opera House to-night^ end a perusal of the programme published in par advertising columns will show thnt a rpftlly excellent musical treat has been provided by the CpratDitfep for the benefit of those who will attend in order to participate in a cbaritsble action that is sorely needed by the beucficiarc. The programme is a lengthy one, nnd contains the names of sucb excellent performers as Misses B. Flynri, Bailey, and Richards, Mrs Grindrod, Messrs Conroy, Hooker, McAneny, Mitchell, W. Huichens, H. Franks, the St. Mary's Quartette Party, and the Borough Band. Mrs W. A. Quinn io the accompanist. Orchestral items will be provided by Mr Higharn's orchestra, which in itself is sufficient guarantee that the concert will be a very successful one. The piano, a concert grand, has been very kindly lent by Messrs Dixon and Bates. As the object of the concert is to assist one who has been on a sick bed for some months past, and is np>7 in the Hawera^Hospita], and who in days gone by was the promoter, and ably assisted, on occasions such &3 the present for others in need, it is to be hoped that to- night will see a bumper house, filled by those who are anxious to help in a worthy object. Tbe Mayor (Mr B. O. Bobbins) Will open the concert by a short speech.
